Sushi

Just got back from a great day at the beach. We got there at about 9 after a perfect breakfast at the Ibiza cafe. They had abou fifteen different types of fruit and veggies along with tons of traditional stuff. We hung out by the pool for a while after testing out the ocean. The switched back and fourth a few times. They had deep fried hotdogs at the snack bar with nachos. I scored some of that for Jack not knowing if they would have the “right stuff” at the sushi bar. The rolls were good but the sashimi was a little suspect so I steered clear.

Now we are in the hotel room (4:15) watching some toons and cleaning up a little bit. Traditional Mexican party tonight with carne and the like.

Blog of Cancun

I’m on the beach listening to Leo Laporte while grabbing some sun. We hit the flea market this morning and scored some sunglasses and beach toys.

The run this AM was pretty nice even though after I got back I realized the views were MUCH better going the other direction. On wednesday I will be sure to take a right out of the hotel doors.

Today’s plan consists of just some lounging and sushi.

What a Great Little Jaunt

This weekend we decided to go take a quick trip to St. Louis MO. Our goal, to get some BBQ, hit city Museum and not do the same old same old. Mission complete and smiles all around.

The night before we left we stopped at Best Buy and scored a Garmin 255 navi. During the evening I uplaoded all the new maps and POI. The next morning we go packed up and head out.

We arrived in St. Louis at about 1:30 and took a little dip in the pool. It was about 72 and sunny! What a pleasant surprise. After the soak Jack was asked about his preference for dinner. He picked sushi. We walked out to Wasabi Sushi Bar for so excellent rolls and chicken yaki soba. Then the fun started.

City Museum is hands down the best children’s museum I have ever seen. But to doesn’t stop there. Adults will also be amazed by the stuff going on there. Hundreds of slides (10 story spiral slide and ends in cave with dragons carved into the walls). It was amazing!!!!!!! After 3 hours there we walked back to the hotel for some shut eye.

Saturday morning stared with a free breakast and a walk to Union Station and the Arch . Both were as expected very cool and we have photos to prove it. We also saw a Blackhawk chopper and took the opportunity to get in and take some pictures. After those two spots we headed back for some chow and another dip in the pool.

Next up – the St. Louis Zoo. Very cool , free and they had a rogue wood chuck in the Prairie Dog exhibit. A mean sucker too! We spent a few hours there and then headed out to dinner. The food was good but the wait staff was completely incompetent. Houlihans’ step it up. You charge $15 for a cheese burger everything better be perfect. Anyway, Jack loved his wings and “dominated” all of them.

It was a great trip and we can check st. louis off the list.

Photos will be listed a day or so.
